It Started Out Innocent Enough...

On our last evening at the farm, Dane wanted to give the kids a ride on a horse.

It was such a gorgeous day and wonderful way to end our visit.

Next, it was Nic's turn.

The weather could not have been more beautiful.

After Nic, Mary got on for another ride.

Just when you thought it was safe to get back onto a horse.

We spent that night in the ER. It was a freak accident. Despite walking a slow, controlled pace, the horse suddenly lurched forward, causing Mary to lose her grip and fall off. Unfortunately, she fell and broke her wrist. The next morning, we sadly said our goodbyes and headed out.

Ironically, Mary's wrist didn't bother her near as much as the prescription medication.

A few days later, Mary started her first day of school. I had to take her out early to visit an Orthopaedic.

She returned to school that same afternoon, excited to be wearing a new HOT PINK cast for all her new friends to sign!

  1. That darn horse...but don't be afraid Mary...I'm sure the horse is really really sorry.
I hope you heal fast! Happy school year. One of your mama's good friends from Once Upon a Fairyland.
Come and see my lemonade stand. Perhaps your mama will make you one! Tee hee! Cross your fingers!

  2. Oh that poor little sweetie! Please tell her that I think she looks pretty in that pink cast! And I hope she heals quickly.
I love all of your finds you shared in your previous post, especially that darling pink and blue stroller!

  3. poor sweet girl! she looks so little in that big bed.
